Guild Wars 2 Achievement System – What It Is and What You Get

Hey everyone! 🎉

I launched my website on July 28th, and as of September 28th, 2025, it’s officially turning 2 months old! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for your interest and support so far. You guys are awesome! ❤️

If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to share them in the comments below. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Achievement System

Like in every other MMO, Guild Wars 2 also comes with an achievement system. But what are these exactly? And what do they expect from us? The idea is actually super simple: almost everything you see in the game has its own achievement! Let me give you some examples that popped into my head:

  • Killing mobs (100 / 500 / 1000 kills)

  • Weapon mastery achievements

  • Fractal achievements

  • Strike Mission achievements

  • Raid achievements

  • Open World Boss achievements

  • Dungeon achievements

  • Weapon collection achievements

  • Outfit/skin achievements

  • Mastery Point achievements

  • Crafting achievements

  • Fishing & rod collection achievements

  • Mount achievements

  • Hidden area exploration achievements

  • Jumping Puzzle achievements

  • Story completion achievements

  • Sitting on chairs achievements (yes, seriously 😅)

  • PvP & WvW achievements like kills, defense, and assaults

  • Seasonal event achievements

  • Survival achievements

  • Book and paper collection achievements

  • Legendary crafting achievements

What Do I Get From Them?

Now, here’s the fun part: Guild Wars 2 achievements are basically endless. Unlike other games where loot is based on RNG and luck, GW2’s achievement system gives you straightforward rewards. Do the task → finish it → grab your reward. No luck needed, no gambling involved. Just pure satisfaction!

On top of that, every milestone like 5000 – 10000 – 15000 achievement points comes with extra goodies: exclusive skins, gold, and even gems directly from the game. Some players sit around 10-20K points because they never cared much about achievements, even after years of playing. But there are also hardcore veterans rocking 45K – 50K points (yeah, those guys have been around forever).

Since most achievements only give you like 1-5 points each, hitting something like 49,500 achievement points is no joke. Usually, players who already crafted all the legendary gear, finished their sets, and basically cleared all end-game content end up either focusing on PvP, WvW, or chasing achievements.

At the end of the day, Guild Wars 2 offers so much content that the real joy comes from playing with friends, chilling on Discord, and just enjoying the ride. Of course, you can also play fully solo – no one is stopping you. Life’s yours, choices are yours, and achievements… well, they’re just the cherry on top! 🎉
