REVENANT CORE BUILD
Hey folks, welcome!
On this page, I’ll be sharing my own Revenant Core build — the one I personally use and recommend. It’s perfect for players who’ve hit level 80 but haven’t unlocked elite specializations yet. My philosophy? Pretty simple: Stay alive and hit as hard as you can!
Now, a quick word about the Revenant — it becomes available once you own the Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire expansions. So yeah, it’s kind of a “DLC-only” profession. If you’re on a free account, you probably noticed it’s grayed out on the character select screen.
But once you grab a DLC? Boom — it’s unlocked! And let’s be honest, when Revenant first arrived, it blew everyone’s mind. Especially with the Herald elite spec — that double-sword swagger and skill bar design instantly made it stand out from the rest.
Oh, and before we go further — “Vision of Eternity” is out now! Congrats to everyone who got it. Let’s see what the new DLC brings us — I’ll keep you updated here, don’t worry!
Now, if you ask me, Revenant is absolutely a profession you can master and main. It supports every role — whether you’re in the mood for damage, support, or even healing. Want to go Power or Condi? Go for it!
Prefer support? You can play Quickness, Alacrity, or even full Healer mode. Revenant gives you a wide, flexible toolkit — just pick your style and go wild.
A few golden rules before we go deeper...
These aren’t just about Guild Wars 2 — they apply to almost every MMO, MMORPG, or ARPG out there.
Here are my golden beginner tips:
-
✅ Always have a main character. (“I play every role” usually works for hardcore players only!)
-
✅ Know your main inside out. Every skill, every build variation.
-
✅ Design your main wisely. (You can fix things with gold, but better to plan ahead!)
-
✅ Pick a cool nickname. (Yes, that can be changed too — for gold 😄)
-
✅ Choose the right gender and race. (Some games don’t allow race changes, so pick one you actually enjoy looking at!)
-
✅ Understand your class’s limits. A wrong move can kill you, or worse — make you say, “Ugh, I picked the wrong class…”
-
✅ And most importantly — bond with your main!
All of these matter because the more connected you feel to your character, the better you’ll play. I’ve got friends who’ve stuck to one character and one build for years, and they’re absolute masters of it.
That doesn’t mean playing multiple characters is bad — far from it! But your main should always get your primary focus if you want to improve fast.
Personally, I’ve been through it all — started as a Necro main (played for about 1.5 years), then switched to Warrior for 2 years, added a Guardian, and still felt something was missing. Now, on my third account, I’m maining Thief under the nickname Yusking (you might’ve seen me around 👀).
Maining a class takes time — days, weeks, maybe even years — to truly master it across PvE, PvP, and WvW. So yeah, patience is key.
WEAPON AND ARMOR SET SETTINGS
Alright folks, as promised — here’s the core part.
This build is made for level 80 open-world play before you unlock elite specs. It’s simple, strong, and keeps you alive while learning the ropes.
Revenant is the last heavy armor profession, and my favorite thing about it is the dual stance system — meaning you can swap both weapons and legends (stances). This gives you two healing skills and tons of survival potential. Combine that with high HP, and all that’s left to think about is… damage!
If you go Power build:
No surprises here — go dual swords, and don’t even look back!
Use Assassin (Shiro) and Dwarf (Jalis) stances. Dwarf keeps you alive, while Shiro turns you into a mob-melting machine.
Your bread-and-butter sword skills? 1, 2, and 4.
Skills 3 and 5 are great for repositioning or avoiding hits. Easy, clean, fun.
If you go Condi build:
This time, your weapons and stances change. Dwarf stays (because why would you ever drop Jalis?), but now you pair it with Demon (Mallyx) stance — that’s where your condition damage shines.
For weapons, I recommend Mace + Axe and Shortbow. Some players stick to just one of them, and that’s fine too.
You can either weapon swap or go all-in with your favorite setup.
Honestly, Revenant is a profession worth mastering. I’ve tried it many times myself — swapping legends and weapons at the right moment isn’t easy (maybe it’s my age talking — turning 40 hits different 😅).
Anyway, that’s it for this build, my lovely readers.
These are build posts, so I like to keep them short and straight to the point.
Take care — and as always, have fun out there, legends!
