STRIKE MISSIONS (SOTO)

SOTO STRIKE MISSIONS GUIDE !

Abbreviations:
Secrets of the Obscure: SOTO DLC
Temple of Febe: ToF Strike Mission
Cosmic Observatory: CO Strike Mission
Note:
For IBS5, the entrance is Eye of the North. For EoD, it’s Arborstone, and for SOTO Strike, head to The Wizard's Tower. If you’re wandering around other maps… tough luck! You cannot enter these strike missions, even if you’re in a team. Yep, really. No shortcuts, no teleport hacks, just follow the rules. 😎

First of all, hello everyone! Dear readers and players, forgive me for repeating this in every post, but don’t forget to swing by my YouTube channel, hit that subscribe button, and drop a like—otherwise my cat will judge me. 😎 Soon, I’ll be bringing you full-length videos that are super player-friendly. Instead of fancy “native English,” I’ll keep it simple so everyone can enjoy it—basically, teaching you how to play Guild Wars 2 without turning it into rocket science.

A huge thanks to everyone visiting my site. To my loyal readers who never miss a post—consider this a virtual heart just for you. ❤️ You guys are my motivation. Seriously, seeing your engagement makes all the grind worth it. The goal wasn’t to compete with big, long-standing GW2 content sites, but as of August 1, 2025, my little corner of Tyria has been alive and kicking for 2.5 months—and it’s all thanks to you.

Alright, enough with the pleasantries. Let’s dive into SOTO Strike Missions from my perspective. How useful this will be? Honestly, I have no clue—but if you’re a new player, please watch the videos and read my posts before attempting these missions. Trust me, it makes life easier.

SOTO Strike Missions aren’t like IBS5 or EoD—they’re a condensed version, shorter and sweeter. Personally, I think they could’ve packed 4–5 strikes here instead of just 2, but hey, daily strike missions will still net you blue shards, gold, ascended items, and T5–T6 crafting materials. My advice? Do them every day.

At first glance, it might feel long—about 5 minutes per strike (maybe more). Doing both could take 1–1.5 hours, depending on your team. Complete them, and you’ll walk away with 15 gold—not even counting the other goodies.

Comparing them to IBS and EoD, my take is: SOTO strikes are as easy as IBS but shorter, since there are only two missions: CO and ToF. Check LFG, and you’ll see them listed. Rumor has it that with Vision of Eternity, raids and strikes might be soloable—but will drops be the same as in a full group? I honestly don’t know yet.

Wondering about blue shards if you solo? Yep, you can get them. And with blue shards, you can craft ascended weapons and armor sets. Strike missions are really new-player friendly, letting you grab items without crafting. That alone makes them valuable content.

Currently, I’m doing shorts because my studio isn’t finished yet. Once it is, expect long, casual, fun videos full of banter. Now, let’s get started.

SOTO Strike Missions: CO & ToF

CO Strike Mission:
I hate spoilers, but I kinda have to explain some mechanics. Sorry, don’t be mad! 😅

In CO, it’s basically a scenario we do as a group. We’re fighting Dagda, like in the story. Think of it as a giant circular room where Dagda is the boss. Mechanics are simple, especially on normal mode—it’s like fighting a giant puppet.

Two main phases:

  1. Dagda opens a massive red area—stay out, kill incoming mobs, then refocus on him.

  2. Repeat.

Other classic mechanics: red circles under players, CC breaking phases, and bosses moving around. Whether you play power or condi, it works. In CM (Challenge Mode), a couple extra mechanics appear, and the boss HP is huge—so DPS needs to be high (think 15k+). Longer fights = more mechanics.

Tip: If you fail at any point, be ready to start over, bosses can bug out with 5% HP left. And yes, this applies to all content, not just CO.

Temple of Febe (ToF):

Ever done a raid? Meet Deimos. Know him? If so, you’ve probably seen him before. And here’s the twist: his brother, Cerus, is the boss here!

Cerus is a blast—why? He stays in place. I love bosses who don’t run around. Both are Kryptis, insanely powerful, and look absolutely legendary. Cerus in normal mode is easy, CM mode? Brutal.

Mechanics:

  • Follow the Commander

  • Break CC when it appears

  • Avoid red circles under players

  • Beware spinning black-red AoE (like a helicopter blade)

Cerus disappears twice, small Kryptis minions spawn—don’t stress about the order, just follow the Commander. Kill the minions, Cerus comes back. Two cycles, mission done.

That’s it, folks. From my heart to yours, thank you for reading, playing, and sticking around. Take care of yourselves, Tyria still has a ton to explore, and remember: stay awesome. ✌️
