Tyria World 03.10.2025

Hey folks! So, what’s on today’s post, you ask?

Honestly… not much that’s brand new! πŸ˜… I’m just gonna share some thoughts about the changes and upcoming stuff in Guild Wars 2, mixing in my own opinions along the way. Big shoutout and thanks to all my dear readers who’ve been following my posts—it really means a lot. ❤️

Oh, and if you could show some of that love over on my YouTube channel too, that’d help me grow way faster. Seriously, you’d make a brother’s dreams come true. 😎 Once I’ve got all my equipment set up, I’ll be bringing you guys higher quality videos and content that’ll actually make you go “woah, that’s slick!”YusKinG

Alright, enough self-promo. Let’s get to the juicy part: questions start rolling in after the ads—so here’s the big one: What’s Vision of Eternity gonna bring us?

First things first, if you’re new to the game and bought all the DLC packs, keep in mind that they already come with a ton of content: Mastery points, storylines, achievements… basically hundreds of things to do. If you’re new, finishing all that should be your first goal. That’s for the newbies out there.

Now, for my fellow veteran players who’ve been stuck waiting eagerly for the new DLC—yeah, I’m talking to you, my patient gamer siblings—here’s the deal. ArenaNet had a killer launch with EoD, but unfortunately, they couldn’t replicate the same success with SoTo, or even Janthir. Why? The reasons are complicated, everyone has their opinions, I respect that, but I’m not here to debate it.

All we know is: we’ve been waiting impatiently for the upcoming Vision of Eternity package, and guess what? ArenaNet just dropped the official news on the forum. Finally… it’s happening!

Here’s the scoop:

Solo RAID & STRIKE Missions + New LFG System

Yep, you read that right. Not a typo. πŸ₯³
I can already hear some of you saying, “I started the game a year ago, and I still haven’t done raids, but I really wanna try!” Well, the new system is here to fix that. Soon, you won’t need a squad to join raids—you can do them solo at the level you choose. Pretty thoughtful change, huh?

And yes, the ability to pick your level is also coming. Think about fractals: we used to have Tiers 1-2-3-4, right? Well, raids and strikes won’t just be normal and challenge anymore—they’ll now have Normal, Challenge, and Legend modes. Fancy!

So… will soloing give you more rewards?

First off, fractals and strikes already drop loot daily, but raids? They only drop loot weekly, so keep that in mind.

Here’s my take on the solo raids and strikes: I think the drops will be different. So if you get into a raid with a squad, you earn Li (Legendary Insight). Go solo? Probably no Li. Seems like a carefully thought-out system to me.

Why? Well, raids are how we earn Li, and that Li is what we use to craft Envoy Legend Armor Sets. PvP and WvW also have armor sets, but they take a long time to farm—you basically need to play constantly. The Envoy set is obtainable with 150 Li from Wings 1-2-3-4 only. So hopping in solo and finishing a legend set in 4-5 weeks? The game won’t allow that, it seems.

Basically, if you want that Legend Envoy set, you’ll still need your squad to earn Li. No single-player content in GW2 hands out Li—Raid and CM Strike Missions are your only sources.

And imagine if they did let solo players earn all the same mats and gold as a squad… game-breaking! GW2 is meant to be a multiplayer game. If they messed with drops like that, everyone would just solo everything, and squads would vanish. Suddenly, GW2 would feel like an ARPG… and not the good kind. 😬

Biggest upcoming changes:

  • LFG system

  • Solo content

And yes, there will also be new specs, which I mentioned before. Expect them with the end-of-October DLC, and by January, we should get the new map and storyline.

Pro tip: save 250 Hero Points for the new specs so you can max them out immediately once they drop.

For story and map lovers… not much I can tell you, other than what ArenaNet has already shown.

Oh, and apparently they’ve made a flying/skimmer mount that attacks from the air—because clearly Skyscale and Griffon weren’t enough πŸ˜…. Maybe it’ll be for WvW, maybe PvP—who knows? Totally my fantasy at this point.

And for players with deep pockets wondering what to spend them on? A new Home instance is coming! You’ll get an island where you can build your own fun setups. Could be really entertaining—though I can’t guarantee how much you’ll care about it… 😏

So yeah, let’s wait and see what Vision of Eternity brings us!

Thanks again for reading all the way to the end. Don’t forget my YouTube channel! Take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and have an awesome time out there! ✌️
