Mad King’s Gone… But Guess Who’s Next? π
Play Games. Heal Kids. – Extra Life x Guild Wars 2❤️
Hey folks! What’s up, my lovely readers and followers? π
I know, I know... the posts are super late this week — blame real life! I’ve had so much going on that I barely had time to sit down and share the latest Guild Wars 2 updates or any helpful guides with you. My bad, seriously. But hey, I’m back now!
So, as of Tuesday, the Mad King event has officially come to an end. See you next year, my crazy pumpkin-headed friend π. Thanks to you, tons of players walked away rich with gold, loot, and happy memories! Between the Madness Tower jumping puzzle, the Madness Race, and the classic Labyrinth, this event was pure chaos — in the best way possible. Probably one of the most fun and rewarding events ever. Huge shoutout to the ArenaNet team for making it happen again this year!
Mad King’s gone... so what’s next?
Well, folks — it’s time to talk about something way more important: our health.
Yep, the most important event of all — staying alive and well! We gotta take care of ourselves, know our bodies, and actually treat them with a little respect for once, right? π
And after that… it’s the kids! (Single readers, don’t run away yet.)
I know some of you are single, and that’s fine — I’m not here to tell you to start a family tomorrow. But health, kindness, and compassion? Those matter for everyone. Married, single, gamer, cat parent — doesn’t matter. Which brings me to something awesome:
The Extra Life charity event is back! π
I absolutely love what ArenaNet and similar gaming communities do with these charity drives. They raise money for children’s hospitals while letting players have fun doing what we love most — playing games! It’s honestly the perfect combo: having fun, doing good, and making a real impact.
If you’ve got some spare Gems or a few bucks to donate, these events are the perfect place to pitch in. Whether it’s for a children’s hospital, an orphanage, or a school that needs support — every bit helps. Remember, our first job as humans is to recognize that other people exist in this world too.
If you live like you’re the only one who matters… one day, you’ll realize how wrong that is.
A little story for the heart π
Back in 1972, in the state of Ohio, there was a farmer named John Barten. He secretly paid for a poor kid’s entire education — from elementary school all the way to university — without ever telling him.
The kid’s name was Tom. He thought he was studying thanks to a state scholarship. Turns out, for 20 years, it was John who covered every expense.
John had three children of his own, but when he got old, none of them cared. He lived alone on his old farm, ignored by his kids and forgotten by his grandkids.
(Before you judge the guy — no, he wasn’t a bad father. He was actually a great one. The kids just turned out… well, let’s say “ungrateful.”)
Years later, Tom graduated, became super successful, and decided to give back by funding another student’s education. When he went to apply at the state office, he found out he’d never actually received any state help — it was all from John Barten.
Shocked, Tom tracked him down. He finally found John sitting on his porch, watching the sunset. Tom introduced himself, hugged him, and brought him out of that lonely life. They lived like father and son until John passed away. π
The point is — we’ll all get old one day. None of us live forever.
And when that day comes, maybe someone you once helped will be the one to help you back. That’s what being human means.
Helping others doesn’t make you weak; it’s actually one of the strongest things you can do.
“Loneliness isn’t built for humans. Help when you can — you’ll lose nothing but gain everything.” π¬
So yeah, if you can, give. Donate, share, smile, support.
You won’t lose a thing, my friends. Stay kind, stay human, and have an amazing week ahead.
Love you all — see you next time! ❤️
