Thief Core Build — Quick Guide, Gear, Traits & Rotation
Anyway! Enough of that. Let’s get back to the fun stuff. Today, I’m gonna show you my new main: the Thief, and more specifically, my Condi Core Build.
You can find the Power Dual Pistol build anywhere on the internet, but this core condi thief setup with double daggers? It hits different. Like seriously — you can pump out 35–36K DPS easily. Perfect for open world, and with your escape skills ready, you can just tag mobs with 2–3 skills, vanish into the shadows, and watch them die behind you while you keep running like a boss.
Now, for bosses, you’ll have to play a bit more carefully — the Thief’s HP sits around 10–12K, so one mistake and boom, you’re kissing the floor. This build puts you inside the fight, dancing around your enemies, so yeah… beware of AoE damage.
Luckily, we’ve got our trusty Shadowstep and Smokebomb on the bar — perfect for dodging ranged hits, avoiding stuns, immobilize, or any annoying CCs they try to throw at you.
Gameplay:
Honestly? Super easy, my friends. Just activate Venom Blade, toss your 4th skill to start things off, then go wild with your 3rd skill combo. You’ll be leaping all over the place like a ninja, taking almost no damage while melting enemies. The secret sauce here is simple — after you use your 3rd skill, squeeze in two auto-attacks before using skill 3 again. That’s it. Easy loop: 3 → 2 auto hits → 3 again. Keep that rhythm and watch your enemies melt.
Weapons & Armor:
Everything should be Viper’s set, trust me. Don’t waste your gold on exotic — they’re crazy expensive and not worth crafting right now. Just farm Strike Missions, collect Blue Shards, and grab your Ascended Viper gear piece by piece. This build is perfect for you until you hit level 80 and unlock elite specs. After that, you can dive into one of the four elite specializations and go wild.
And let me tell you, I’m absolutely loving it. I’ve been a Necro and Warrior main for years, and honestly, I used to ignore other classes — or let’s be real, I was just biased. Thought I wouldn’t be able to play them properly. But Thief? Oh man, you have to try this class. Especially in PvP and WvW, you can seriously make people rage quit.
Anyway, that’s all for today. At the end of the day, it’s all about fun and personal taste. So go ahead, give it a try — you’ve got nothing to lose.
Have an awesome week, everyone!
