Why Guild Wars 2 in 2025-2026

Hello, my dear readers! I know I haven’t posted anything for the past 3-4 days, and I’m really sorry about that. Due to some annoying technical glitches, I couldn’t create my posts or even use my computer properly. As you know, I’ve been juggling studio preparations on one side and my regular driving and transportation work on the other. With equipment breaking left and right, unfortunately, my posts didn’t make it to you. I’m really, really sorry about that in advance. For the past few days, it’s been raining and the sun doesn’t seem to want to show itself…

Even though we always try to stay strong, sometimes I genuinely feel like giving up. But the real victory, in my opinion, is right at the moment when you feel like quitting and you scream “NO!!!” to yourself and decide to get back up. For the past three years, I’ve been fighting life’s struggles under really tough conditions. Of course, I’m talking from my own perspective. You can always look around and find people who are worse off, and it can give you a boost of “Hey, I’m actually okay.” My grandfather used to say: “Always aim higher than yourself, but when you’re thankful, look at those below you.” Trust me, life is tough for everyone. Never lose your fighting spirit. Life is beautiful for some, tough for others, long for some, short for others—but everyone has just one life. Make the most out of it. Why do we live? Well…

Yes, the continuation of this paragraph will be in my next post. But for now, let’s get to the main topic: Guild Wars 2! Now, if we were to try to list the top 5 or 10 MMORPGs in the world, this game would definitely appear. But why is it so great? Why does it deserve your attention? Have you ever asked yourself or someone else that? So, as we’re approaching 2026, let’s dive deep into one of the most frequently asked questions: Why Guild Wars 2? In my next post, don’t worry, I’ll continue with Core Builds.

Should you start Guild Wars 2 now?

Honestly, I didn’t want to start this post as a kind of game advertisement. But I can’t help it—this game deserves it. First, I won’t compare it to any other MMO or MMORPG. Different games have different fanbases, and I don’t want anyone cursing at me. Now, to answer the question: Yes! It was released in 2012, but is it too old to play? Absolutely not, friends. With constant updates and nearly yearly DLCs recently, this game truly deserves a chance. Download it, install it, and start playing.

Reason 1

No monthly fees! If a DLC comes out once a year, you just buy that if you want—and you don’t even have to. I speak from experience: when End of Dragons (EoD) came out, I bought it a year later. Why? Because there’s so much content to enjoy that it’s endless. Play and play and play again—it never runs out.

Reason 2

What awaits you when you start Guild Wars 2? First off, a truly great main story that lets you explore the world of Tyria and have a fantastic time. Then, with the DLCs and the Living World series, the story never ends. And guess what? You’re the main character, and the storylines interact beautifully. You’ll find yourself fully immersed in that world. Even though the game engines were designed for older systems, in 2025 it still offers a beautiful visual experience and stunning in-game vision.

Reason 3

No need to search for content. There’s so much to do—solo, in groups, in squads, or with hundreds of players. Traveling around Tyria, chasing achievements, and embarking on new adventures is incredibly fun and can keep you busy for hours on end.

Reason 4

Even though I sometimes get annoyed with ArenaNet employees, they genuinely care about the player community. They support it and are helpful. Honestly, this may be the best MMORPG community you can see. Yes, there are toxic players, but very few. One of the best things about this game is how players help each other. In-game or even in the main chat, whatever question or help you need, someone will step in. The community has been amazing for years and hasn’t changed. Stay away from hardcore groups—they always chase the “best”!

Reason 5

PvP lovers, this one’s for you! Why? Because no matter your level or gear, everyone is equal in the PvP arena. No legendary gear nonsense—player skill is what matters. A 10-year veteran and a 1-week newbie are equals in PvP. And WvW (World vs. World)? A completely different battlefield. Chase victories with your commanders, defend castles, fight with hundreds of players. It’s so immersive that you might not even notice 5-6 hours have passed. The content is incredible—you really need to try it!

Reason 6

And you don’t have to log in every single day! There’s no forced responsibility. Even if you play once or twice a week, you’ll progress. The system is player-friendly, so even if months pass between sessions, when you return, your character hasn’t lost anything. You just won’t get that sense of loss in other games!

Final Thoughts: Yusking’s Recommendation

Download it, start playing, and trust me—you won’t regret it. I started playing years ago, and now our community feels like a family. Guild Wars 2 isn’t just a game—it helps you make real friendships, even a family-like atmosphere, with real people in the world of Tyria. So, for anyone wondering, “Should I start Guild Wars 2?”—the answer is yes! Take care of yourselves, and I’ll see you in my next post!
